Accessories for the PC110

This page lists the accessories I have personally tested with my PC110. Some of them require particular settings before they will work, but most worked fine right out of the box. I have included information about the price and place I bought each accessory, but please don't ask for more details on how to buy any of these items. All of the information I have is here.

IBM Products

IBM PCMCIA ThinkPad File 15MB
IBM P/N 66G0315 FRU P/N 49G0000
Manufactured by SunDisk (now SanDisk)
15MB Type II ATA flash drive. To use in a PC110, issue the command line:
PS2 pccd3v off
(this is an older 5V PC card).
This card also came in 5MB and 10MB versions. I bought one for $159.00 at Disk Drive Depot in Mountain View, California. At the time, they told me it was the last one they had.
IBM PCMCIA Hard Drive 40MB
IBM P/N 74G8681 FRU P/N 71G6426
Manufactured by Integral Peripherals
40MB Type III ATA hard drive. Usable in a PC110 as is.
I bought one for about $60.00 at Disk Drive Depot in Mountain View, California.

Third Party Manufacturers

EPSON Flash Card 20MB
ATA Series
Manufactured by SunDisk (now SanDisk)
20MB ATA flash drive. Usable in a PC110 as is.
Good for Windows 3.1, DOS, Linux. Lower power than the IBM card.
I bought two for $250.00 each from a private individual who had more than he needed at the time. They're still pretty easy to find, though, since several companies OEM this card from SanDisk.
Eiger Labs PCMCIA Hard Drive 340MB
Manufactured by Integral Peripherals
340MB Type III ATA hard drive. Usable in a PC110 as is.
I bought one for $495.00 at Computer City in Tysons Corner, Virginia. This is an OEM version of the Integral Peripherals Viper Type III drive.
AT&T KeepInTouch Express Modem
14.4 (V.32bis) Data / Fax Modem
Usable in a PC110 as is.
Set up one of the serial ports as "PCMCIA" in the BIOS Easy-Setup screen, and you don't even need any PCMCIA drivers. I bought one for $69.00 at CompUSA in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
New Media Visual Media SCSI Card
Usable in a PC110 under DOS (requires PCMCIA drivers to be loaded). I recommend loading the ASPI driver that comes with the card with the "/A140" option. Without it, I had trouble getting the ASPI driver to find the card. Works great with the Iomega Zip drive, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, and scanners. I bought one for $72.00 at Micro Center in Vienna, Virginia.
SONY NP-500 Series 8mm Camcorder Battery
Usable in a PC110 out of the box. Other brands of NP-500 batteries should work also (close inspection of the IBM battery that comes with the PC110 shows that it is identical to a Panasonic battery except for the label; even the embossing on the plastic is identical). I've bought them for about $70.00 at various consumer electronics stores.
Sejin Mini 'J-Mouse' Keyboard
Usable as a keyboard without any driver software. 'J-Mouse' pointing device (basically, a pointing device built into the 'J' key) requires driver for Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 (available on the Sejin WWW site).
This keyboard is the smallest and lightest one with full-size keys that I've found so far. I bought it at Fry's Electronics. This isn't their URL--it's a link to a wonderful rant about Fry's. Evidently Fry's isn't on the Internet yet, although they've sued a manufacturer of french frying equipment for use of the "frys.com" domain name...
